About Dr Ruth Harker

I am a General
Practitioner working in Ivybridge Devon for the last 24 years. I
qualified in 1980 from Bristol Medical School and after hospital
jobs in Bristol, Frenchay and Plymouth settled near Ivybridge to
be a GP.
I have developed
a special expertise and experience in Dermatology. In addition to
my work as a family doctor I run an NHS Dermatology Clinic serving
18 GP practices covering the whole of the South Hams.
This NHS clinic
deals with distressing conditions such as eczema, psoriasis and
acne and also skin cancer. In the NHS clinic I have developed a
particular specialism in skin cancer performing a wide range of
operations under local anaesthetic, sometimes involving complex
procedures such as skin flaps and skin grafts.
