Dr Harker has just had a hectic weekend in London organising the BCAM (British College of Aesthetic Medicine) Annual Conference with her colleague Dr Beatriz Molina of Medikas.
This was held at the prestigious Church House Conference Centre, just behind Westminster Abbey and 250 doctors attended. There were fascinating lectures and live demonstrations on patients of the latest procedures ,such as non- surgical face lifts with fillers and the latest thread techniques. This is a great way to keep abreast of the newest developments in this fast expanding area of medicine.
Dr Harker is Finance Director and Secretary of the College, which is an unpaid role but Dr Harker is keen to achieve the goals of the College. The aim of the College is to establish Aesthetic Medicine as a medical speciality in its own right.
BCAM is a Responsible Body, which means it is responsible for the Appraisal and Revalidation of Aesthetic Doctors ,checking that the doctors who perform this work are properly qualified. It is strongly recommended that patients only attend doctors who are properly trained for these procedures. You can visit the BCAM website to see a list of accredited doctors.
